The Tla’amin First Nation have been fishing and processing herring for thousands and thousands of years. They can no longer fish for this important fish species today. SFU archaeologists working in the Tla’amin’s traditional territory helped to uncover the intensity at which herring were fished in the past, and to raise awareness about the loss of this important resource.

Oct 10 - A 3.5 metre long fish is caught in the east coast of Taiwan.
A 3.5 metre long fish is caught in the east coast of Taiwan by a local fisherman who believe it is a sign of an upcoming earthquake.
According to local media reports, the fish is a member of the species Regalecus glesne.
It is known as the King of Herrings and is considered to be the largest of the bony fish. It lives at depths of up to 1000 meters, making sightings rare.

As you can see in the video there are no scales, DFO, unloading monitors or official government observers present during the dated herring unloading in Nova Scotia. Canada spends billions and billions of dollars a year on fisheries management and see for yourself what actually goes on at the wharf. Thats why I vote Green but if more Canadians cared and tried to help in a peaceful way it would be great. Too bad that our oceans fishes, seals and whales have to pay with eventual extiction. Politics is the business of the people and that is you. Help the animals that cant help but be wiped out. Derek
