We go pike fishing every year in Sage Lake in Hale Michigan, and I have had some success with walleye rigs and crawler harnesses, but I'd like to know if anyone knows of some other lures and hooks that work well.
Pike (as mentioned above) love spoons such as larger versions of Daredevils but also love Rapalas. try floating rapalas and let them sink pretty deep right along the weed line. that will attract them suckers very well (I recommend using a perch colored rapala because they are native baitfish for the pike). best of luck to you and hope you catch a massive pike!
The best lures for pike in weedy inland lakes?

All I ever used were spoons with a prong to protect the hook from catching every weed it runs into. You may drag some reeds from time to time and have to retrieve the lure once or twice, but you will catch fish.

at this time of year the pike will be suspended near deeper weed beds, you will probably need a crankbait(my favorite is chartreuse's) running thru the weed bed(fast retrieve)
, also people like to use larger Daredevils, what you will have to do is change the hook to a weedless style
also if you get some breakoffs, try using the south bend invisa leader 14 or18 pound test (any wal-mart should have)

You should try Carolina rigging or Texas rigging plastics

You can use a large "safety pin" type spinner bait. They pull through the weeds pretty well. There are some inline spinners that have a weedguard on them. I don't know how effective they are. Weedless spoons are effective. I've had pretty good luck with large saltwater size plastics like pogys.

well as a fellow Michigan fisherman I believe in the jointed perch lures and most other artificial bait along that line..( trout, fire tiger..etc)
