the pike up there are massive, saw loads on Lake McQuesten up near Mayo in the Yukon this summer.

Basically, this was pike-porn as, just after ice-out, laying side-by-side in such a swallow weed bed… they obvioulsy were spawning. Fish Porn! Is that what’s next? …Send clip off to “Pikes Gone Wild” video-house, I guess. (”Show us your teeth!”)

I don’t think the Pike are interested much in feeding this time of year so I would not expect much action fishing - they are too busy spawning. Let them spawn…come back in a few weeks it should be much better then. Cheers

I was there yesterday and couldn’t catch a thing. The ones I saw were definitely less active. Too cold still? Half the lake is/was still in ice.

I passed by that lake in summer 2000, on the yukon trip. But who’d think all the northern pike!!

i spent the summer …
i spent the summer of 05 on a NOLS trip in the Yukon ending in Forth Mcpherson N.W. and drove back on the dempster to whitehorse. Fished on Elliot lake and stream which lead onto the Hart river and later onto the Peel river, we paddled all of these and fished the entire time and it was amazing, sadly the only fish in that area seemed to be Greyling

I went on a five …
I went on a five day canoe trip on Snafu lake, which is pretty close to Little Atlin lake (farther from Whitehorse though, I think) and I went to Camp Yukon on Little Atlin, I think. Not exactly sure where the camp was
