Can cats get tapeworms from eating canned fish like mackerel?

Actually, the fish in the can is not processed…it is cut up fish..bones and all. I just read that they can get tapeworms from raw fish and recently a few of mine have it….
Thanks Julianna…I kinda 'know' that now…. O_o
…der
Cats get tapeworm from getting bit by an infected flea, or walking through tapeworm infested feces. Canned foods are all processed and heated, and any parasites that could be in the food would be killed during the processing. But this isn’t a healthy diet for your cat, so I hope you’re feeding it as a treat only.

Anything canned has been heated to such a temperature that parasites wouldn’t survive.
I think tapeworms usually come from eating fleas.
