The Tla’amin First Nation have been fishing and processing herring for thousands and thousands of years. They can no longer fish for this important fish species today. SFU archaeologists working in the Tla’amin’s traditional territory helped to uncover the intensity at which herring were fished in the past, and to raise awareness about the loss of this important resource.

It’s my first AMV. The anime I used is Bleach, and the song is Ichirin no Hana by High and Mighty Color. I had a lot of problems, so I had to film it using an unregistered hyper cam2. I hope I wont have as many problems with my next AMV.

For those of you who have watched my Fish Pond Videos, you know what this Big Bird is wanting.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
Well it only snows here once or twice a year and gone in a day or two?
Well that’s what a normal year brings, but this year is different, we have farmers going broke that can’t get a loan to buy seeds to plant food, and Farmers who will go broke as the coal they uses is taxed, as a fossil fuel?
Our Forestry has been sold to Union Control and waged themselves out of work, with NDP support to the unemployment line. We have waiting lists for medical care, due to the high Union Medical Public Service Union, and Union rules, like not to bend at the waist to pick up trash you dropped?
Then we have the French School thing, and over crowding English SCHOOL Board tax based educated kids in old schools and portables, to do it?
Millions spent to change a words definition, and supply lawyers to terrorist, asked to remove God from O Canada and have had how many elections?
Yet Comox Vally Canadians are Locked up and Drugged and Veterans suffer needlessly!
That’s OK cause Banks and Auto assembly Unions got bail outs!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
If Jack and the NDP stay on track, I will be eating that bird by next Christmas!

I’m a vegetarian, but someone I know wants to try the Scandanavian/Minnesotan traditional dish “pickled Herring” I’ve been trying to help them find it, but having no luck.
when I was a very little girl I used to share a jar with dad (a Minnesotan). The only name we ever called it was “pickled Herring”
but here in VA all I’m finding is Herring in wine sauce and at one place I found something called “Lunch Herring” They are all packaged similarly (In jars or small containers in the fresh seafood chilled section) and they all look similar, with onions mixed in with the chunks of fish
Are either of these the same thing as pickled Herring?? Or are they very different.. The people at the store seemed unsure, but said, no, those were different from PIckeld Herring… I’m going crazy!!! Does it simply not exist down here in VA, or IS herring in wine sauce (vinegar is also an ingredient) or lunch herring the same thing??
Please help..
what you are looking at down there in wine sauce is pickled herring. Any time vinegar is involved it is pickled.
